| Welcome to Philadelphia Philadelphia, “the City of Brotherly Love”, is about 20 minutes from our Center in Cherry Hill. You have a choice of crossing over the Benjamin Franklin Bridge to take you to Historic Philadelphia, Chinatown, and, if you drive a bit farther, the battlefields at Valley Forge or the Walt Whitman Bridge to go to all the sporting venues or to the Philadelphia Navy Yard. You can walk along the Delaware River when you go to Penns Landing and take a ride on the “Spirit of ’76”, dine on the Moshulu, or just sit and watch the ships sail by. You can go into “Olde Town” and have a fantastic seafood dinner at Old Bookbinders, or into Chinatown and eat Chinese food to your heart’s content. There are so many nationalities of restaurants in Philadelphia that you can probably visit a different culture every evening. Theaters and concert halls abound in Center City. The brand new Kimmel Center is home to the famed Philadelphia Orchestra. You can also attend concerts at the Academy of Music, known as “The Grand Old Lady”. Every year for the Christmas holidays the Pennsylvania Ballet Company performs “The Nutcracker” and it is enjoyed by thousands of fans. Walnut Street Theater and the Merriam Theater offer plays and musicals for the theatergoer. There are many theaters on the university campuses in Philadelphia like Temple University and the University of Pennsylvania. The hotels in Philadelphia are top notch and often offer special rates that include a meal and perhaps an event you can attend. You cannot come to Philadelphia without taking time to tour the history of our nation… our forefathers met in Constitution Hall to vote on the Declaration of Independence, the mint or the Liberty Bell, Carpenter’s Hall or Betsy Ross’s home where she made our country’s first flag. Take a walk down Chestnut Street and visit the stores, stop at a vendor and get a Philly soft pretzel, go to Market Street and shop in the Galleria, or go to the Reading Market and buy great things to eat. There are cultural sections in Philadelphia where you can visit and shop. One of the favorites is “Little Italy” and the Italian markets on Washington Street between 9th and 11th Streets in South Philadelphia. The Philadelphia Convention Center is always bustling with events like the Philadelphia Flower Show, the Home Show, car and boating shows, and many others. Last but not least are the sports teams that make Philadelphia proud. The Eagles (who ended the 2002 season at the Veterans’ Stadium and begin the 2003 season in their new stadium, Lincoln Financial Field), the Flyers, the 76ers, and the Phillies (who are “counting down the games played” this season at the Veterans’ Stadium because the team opens the 2004 season in a new stadium), are always in their respective playoffs and are well known around the country. Come see our sports teams and become a fan of players like Donovan McNabb, Jon LeClaire, Allan Iverson, and Jim Thome. Hotels: Dining:
