Southern
New Jersey has so many diversified areas that it’s difficult
to choose one over another.
We have the “Jersey Shore”
with casinos and hotels in Atlantic City, Victorian Center
in Cape May where you can park your car and walk through the
olden days, the Ocean Drive that enables you to travel from
Atlantic City to Cape May and see all the ocean towns along
the way, and of course, THE ATLANTIC OCEAN where you can swim
and fish during the summer months. The USS New Jersey is docked
on the Delaware River near the New Jersey Aquarium in Camden.
The casinos rival their peers from
Las Vegas and offer fine dining, buffets, and sandwich shops
where you can take a break from the gaming floor and eat your
fill. Headliners from every walk of entertainment (theater,
music, dance, magic, etc.) entertain nightly at the hotels,
so you can catch your favorite performer too. And let’s
not forget the famous Atlantic City Boardwalk where you can
buy almost anything you can think of at the shops, get saltwater
taffy from Fralinger’s and even catch Mr. Peanut outside
the Planter’s store where you can purchase all the nuts
you want.
So many towns are still farming communities
that you can always take a drive and see peach and apple orchards,
corn and tomato fields, and stop by a roadside stand and purchase
fresh Jersey tomatoes, Jersey corn, asparagus, fruits of every
variety and even plants to take home with you.
Many of the larger towns have shopping
malls like Cherry Hill, only minutes away from our Center.
Department stores like Strawbridge’s, Macy’s,
JC Penny’s and others inhabit the malls as do smaller
shops like The Gap, Thom McCann, Lerner’s, and a multitude
of others. All of the malls now feature food courts with name
eateries like Chik-Fill-A, Philly Cheesesteaks, Cinnabon,
and others so you can find a wide variety of places to have
lunch or a snack.
There are area movie theaters with
multiple screens showing all of the latest hits from Harry
Potter to Star Trek to The Lord of the Rings
to … well you name it and it’s there.
The concert venues at the Tweeter
Center in Camden and the Center for the Performing Arts in
Washington Township are first rate. Famous name entertainers,
like Aerosmith, Frankie Valli, Tony Bennet and others come
and entertain residents of South Jersey regularly.
We are also home to Six Flags Great
Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey. All the roller coasters
you can ride and areas for children of all ages, with eateries,
shows, and the Safari Park await you at Great Adventure.
