Neurofascial
Process (NFP) was first introduced
by Dr. Sharon Giammatteo in 1985. NFP is a significant part of your
home program when receiving Integrative Manual Therapy. Often, you
are given a large amount of NFP to complete in a certain time frame.
This can be overwhelming if you do not have a support system that
can assist you in the processing. Homework Helpers (HWH) is a unique
program that we offer at CenterIMT Atlanta to help clients in their
NFP home program.
Homework Helpers (HWH) are lay-persons
trained in Neurofascial Process. They are available to assist you
with your hands-on NFP homework program.
How to schedule HWH…
HWHs are not licensed to do “therapy” of any kind, and
their service may never be termed or billed as “therapy.”
Contact the front office to schedule a HWH
session. Appointments are typically
made in the afternoon, beginning at 4:00pm. Weekend appointments
are also available. HWH appointments are scheduled with a 2-hour
minimum and a 4-hour maximum of ‘homework time’. A 5
to 8 minute break may be taken between every 30-minute session of
NFP. Due to required breaks, total time for completing the NFP homework
is always longer than the actual homework time. (For example, to
complete a 3-hour session of NFP typically runs 3 ½ hours
long.) 4 to 7 Helpers will be scheduled to a session depending on
the need and availability.
Payment for the HWH services is due by the
client at the time service is rendered.
