Frequently Asked Questions: Your First Visit to Center IMT

What is IMT?

Integrative Manual Therapy is a non-invasive, drug free healing modality that is based on clinical and scientific research. It is Implemented gently with human hands and has yielded results for people with a wide variety of ailments.

How long will it take until I feel better?

That question can be better answered after your initial assessment. The length of therapy is dependent upon the severity and chronicity of dysfunction and your specific goals for rehabilitation.

Who should I schedule with?

All of our therapists are skilled in IMT and have taken specific courses that are necessary to assess and treat using the IMT approach. The therapist who you schedule with for your initial evaluation will be your primary therapist. This person will oversee your course of treatment and will help to develop a team of therapists for your rehabilitation.

What if I only want to see one therapist?

Our experience has shown that a client will benefit form a team approach, as therapists bring their own expertise and insights that contribute to your recovery.

My child is being treated and I am concerned my child may not be able to tolerate a long treatment session.

We have TVs, VCRs and videos taht may be available for young children during treatment. We recommend you bring favorite videos, toys or books they may care for during the session.

Will I be able to see Sharon (Weiselfish) Giammatteo, Ph.D., P.T., I.M.P., C. or Tom Giammatteo, D.C., P.T., I.M.P., C.?

Sharon and Tom, as well as other leaders in the field of IMT, will be available for expert consultation. They will play a role in developing your treatment plan and coordinating your treatment. Sharon and Tom are physically present during the DLHA Intensives. During those sessions, Sharon can provide immediate technical support to all therapists for all clients.

What should I wear?

We Recommend that you wear loose, comfortable clothing.
