Abstract: Client was diagnosed with inflammation of the left facial
nerve. She was evaluated in June of 2000 for complaints of left neck, head,
and face pain. The Client presented with left facial deformity. She had six
sessions of Integrative Manual Therapy (IMT). Treatment focused on face, head,
and neck. The client was treated with the Bone Bruise Technique and Disruption
of Membrane Technique as well as various IMT techniques for the musculoskeletal,
vascular, and nervous system. The client was discharged from therapy after
six sessions with complete recovery.

Alexandra G. was evaluated in my office on 6/20/00 having been diagnosed with inflammation of the left facial nerve. Patient stated that she started experiencing pain in the left part of her neck, head and forehead in mid-June of 2000. On June 18, the pain became severe and she noticed that the left side of her face was deformed. Upon evaluation, Alexandra presented with the following symptoms:
The following is a chronological description of treatment sessions with functional
and subjective changes.
Session # 1:
Treatment: Treatment of Immune Deficiency Motility at the anterior and inferior
aspect of the left ear; Disruption of Membrane Technique of the facial nerve
in the area; treatment of a strain pattern running from left upper second
molar to the point of entry of facial nerve at the anterior inferior aspect
of the left ear; Bone Bruise Technique to the involved area.
Homework Program: NFP from left ear and eye to ureters for 2 hours.
6/21/00 Session #2:
Subjective: Patient stated that there was no change in her symptoms.
Treatment: Bone Bruise Technique in the left temporal bone; Energy Therapy
to the left eye area; Bone Bruise in the area of the left upper second molar
tooth; Disruption of Membrane Technique in the left eye area; left ear compression
syndromes.
Homework Program: NFP from left face to ureters and heart for two hours.
6/23/00 Session #3:
Subjective: Patient stated that tearing of the left eye and deformity of the
face decreased.
Treatment: Bone Bruise Technique in the left maxilla; Disruption of Membrane
Technique of the left facial nerve; Neural Tissue Tension technique to the
left facial nerve.

7/7/00 Session #4:
Subjective: Patient stated that after the last treatment session, tearing
completely stopped, pain significantly decreased and face was not red any
longer.
Treatment: Neural Tissue Technique to left facial nerve; Disruption of Membrane
Technique in the left eye and ear; correction of a strain pattern from the
left ear to the brainstem area.
7/14/00 Session # 5:
Subjective: Patient stated that she no longer experienced any pain, face deformity
was minimal, blood pressure normalized, movements of the brow and lips were
almost normal.
Treatment: Articular Fascial Release between temporals and occipital bone;
Bone Bruise Technique to the left temporal bone; bilateral temporal bones
Compression Syndromes; sphenoid bone Compression Syndrome; correction of a
strain pattern from the left upper molar to the fronto-nasal junction area;
Bone Bruise Technique at the fronto-nasal junction area.
Homework Program: NFP from left face to heart for two hours, functional exercises
to the left face head and eye.
7/21 Session #6:
Subjective: Patient stated that her face looked normal, she had no pain and
full function.
Treatment: Strain and Counterstrain to the musculature of the left side of
the face; Muscle Rhythm Technique to the left face musculature.
Alexandra G. was discharged from therapy after Session #6 with complete functional recovery.
