What are your functional goals? What is it that you used to be able to do,
or want to be able to do, but no longer can?
Your personal functional goals are vital to planning the FUNCTIONAL Integrative Manual Therapy portion of your Quadrennial Plan. Your Center-based and home based functional programs are progressive. These programs are directed by your goals, plus a functional analysis of your individual abilities. Functional progress in these programs is documented with Pre/Post Video Functional Records.
Functional practice permits the ownership of Structure changes!
Whenever there is an area of the body that is dysfunctional and limited in
function, it is important to begin the treatment process by addressing the
structural problems of that area with Structural Integrative Manual Therapy.
Once the structure has begun to normalize, the body now has the ability to
attain a new potential. Now, function can be addressed optimally. The goal
of functional rehabilitation is to attain optimal functioning.
Training in functional skills comes in many, many forms. Strength training, endurance training, balance training, postural training, sensory training, motor memory training, homeopathic doses of splinter skills distributed over time, are only a few examples. At CenterIMT, every client participates in Functional Integrative Manual Therapy.
Tracking your functional progress is great fun! Digital photographs and video
records of your functional changes document for you, for your insurance company,
and are exciting to share with family and friends.
