Quadrennial Planning was first introduced for preparing the elite athlete
for their goal of winning the gold medal four years in the future, at the
Olympics. The athlete’s plan for those four years was carefully drawn
out, including what they ate, how much they slept, and every detail of their
training.
Carefully looking at your individual goals, planning a course of action, and tracking efforts and progress, is the essence of your Quadrennial Plan. Your immediate goals may include gaining a familiarity with your home program. Your particular start up needs may include beginning Neurofascial Process, a home exercise program, ankle foot orthoses, starting an elimination diet, or ordering a Threshold Electrical Stimulator. Your personal six-month and annual goals are outlined. Your next four-years (Quadrennial) goals for progress and change may cover any and all aspects of your recovery from sensation return, to bowel and bladder function, to reduction of pain, return of strength and endurance, to becoming an elite athlete.
Your home-based program is tailored to compliment your Center-based program. Both programs are aligned to meet your goals. The Quadrennial Plan introduces you to new aspects of your personal home program. Exposure through training of each aspect of your home program is outlined. Some of these aspects of your home program may include Neurofascial Process, Strain and Counterstrain, Myofascial Release, The Disruption of Membrane Technique, Threshold Electrical Stimulus, Bracing, and Nutritional Support.
A plan of what, where, and how often, is projected for your individual schedule on a quarterly basis. Lastly, reviewing and recording the actual efforts made in each area and the progress that has been made, helps everyone to see the fruits of their labor!
